GP Earnings

PUBLICATION OF EARNINGS

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The calculation of earnings excludes certain types of income and the rules are
complex and open to interpretation.
Full-time GPs are defined in the guidance as working eight sessions or
more. The number of GPs includes salaried GPs and locums who worked full
or part-time for 6 months or more.
The required disclosure for your practice is shown below. However, it
should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is
potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time
doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any
judgment about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other
practice.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs
working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Dukinfield Medical Practice in the last financial year was £64,755 before tax and National Insurance.
This is for 2 full-time GP and 5 part-time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
Additionally, anyone earning above £150,000 will need to declare income separately.
