Home Visits
Appointments for Patients with Mobility Issues
If you have difficulty moving around and need an appointment, we will make sure you get care in the best way for your health needs.
- We will contact you first to understand what support you need.
- Home visits are only for patients who are completely housebound and cannot leave their home.
Requesting a Home Visit
- Please call before 10:30 AM if you need a home visit.
- In some cases, we may offer a phone or video call first to assess your needs.
- A doctor can see several patients in the time it takes for one home visit, so we may ask you to come to the practice if possible.
If you have any concerns about accessing care, please speak to our team—we’re here to help.

Chaperone Services
At Dukinfield Medical Practice, your comfort and well-being are our top priorities. We understand that some consultations may feel sensitive, and you may prefer to have a chaperone present during your appointment. Our trained chaperones are available to provide reassurance and support throughout your consultation.
If you would like a chaperone present, please let the receptionist know when booking your appointment or when checking in. While we will do our best to accommodate your request, if a chaperone is not available at your scheduled time, we may need to offer you a different appointment.
For more information about our chaperone policy, please don’t hesitate to ask a member of our team.
Evening & Weekend Appointments
To improve access to general practice, evening and weekend appointments are now available.
Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP, paramedic or HCA on weekday evenings , 6.30 to 8pm, or at the weekends. These appointments will take place at the Body and Mind Centre, Clarendon Shopping Centre, Hyde.
Across Greater Manchester the demand for healthcare services remains very high. This pressure is being felt across General Practice and community services, as well as in our Acute trusts, with our Emergency Departments and ambulance services highly pressured.
Although health services remain at high demand it is important people continue to access care when they need it. In addition to accessing services where and when invited, such as vaccines, health checks, and screening appointments, there is also information on the range of routes to access care and advice at gmintegratedcare.org.uk
If you need help when we are closed
What To Do When We Are Closed
If you require medical assistance or advice outside of normal surgery hours please contact NHS 111.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or severe shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
