DMP Walking Group Take to the Water

Members of our walking group set sail from Portland Basin on Community Spirit 2 on Tuesday afternoon 11th October 2022 heading to Hyde.
With calm waters and the sun shining, we made our way at a leisurely pace along the canal.
We had a fantastic afternoon and we were looked after by the crew who were all volunteers that put in an extra shift just for us.
David, Betty and Dawn all had a go at steering the boat as we all took in the lovely views. We enjoyed refreshments on board and Betty kindly supplied some biscuits for everyone.
If you didn’t manage to join us this time we hope to do it again in the future.
We wish to thank our hosts, the East Manchester Community Boat Project and in particular David and the rest of the crew who gave up their time to make the trip possible.
